At the beginning of June, after a very wet Spring in Italy, we visited the varied and magical Island of Elba. We went there to visit Hotel Hermitage, just 20 minutes from Portoferraio and situated in the most stunning location in the Gulf of Biodola. We were very excited when stylist/journalist Maggie Colvin and photographer Spike Powell visited Tuscany earlier in the season to shoot four of our featured properties: Palazzetto near Siena and Le Rondine, Casa Glyn and Il Baffo in Lunigiana. Having experienced relentless rain we were blessed with three fabulous days and the features will be appearing in 25 Beautiful Homes and Country Homes & Interiors - watch this space! |

A truly exciting event took place in August with the marriage of clients Geoffrey & Jane Gestetner in Lunigiana. The couple were based at romantic and idyllic Villa Sant Andrea and the small and intimate wedding was held in the enchanting medieval town of Bagnone. Merrion arranged everything from witnesses and translator to flowers and photographs and a delicious lunch was held at nearby stylish yet low key Locanda Gavairini (photographs courtesy of Walter Massari, Villafranca in Lunigiana). |
